Art School Girl's origins can be traced back to Amy Rowan's student days at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. It was there that she constructed what would be the first of several stationery lines: a simple blank journal made from recycled books.
A small, hands-on company known for our one-of-a-kind handmade and vintage paper goods. Expertly crafted from recycled materials and often sewn or printed by hand, each piece is artisan quality.
Amy is a product designer, artist and curator fueled by a passion for paper and a love for specialty printing processes. When she’s not designing and distributing vintage, recycled and repurposed papery arts, she can be found drawing, painting and making photographs.
Amy has degrees in both fine art and graphic design and the sensibilities of those disciplines are evident in her award-winning works. Her designs and products have been featured on countless blogs and in magazines like Lucky, Time Out and Chicago magazine and books like 1000 Handmade Greetings, Pushing the Envelope and Impressive: Printmaking, Letterpress and Graphic Design.
