Combining traditional femininity and the allure of fashion with an examination of the grotesque and technical, Molly Carter's work is at once beautiful and unsettling. Finding inspiration at opposite ends of the spectrum, her work references the classic female experience (makeup counters, dress forms, fabric + thread) and the science of architectural renderings, prosthetic limbs and the cataloging of museum specimens. Molly lives and works in Rockford, Illinois with her husband (April's artist David Menard) and their two young boys.
